With the "Use Default Location" setting selected, the eMILER.com database will return only one location for each "Stop" field when you run a route.
Many locations, especially large cities, have multiple ZIP codes
assigned to them. Some locations have multiple name variations in the
eMILER.com database, since the first two letters of the location
match that of other locations in the same state.
In the case of a location with multiple ZIP codes, if "Use
Default Location" is
selected when running a route, eMILER.com will search its location
database and return the location that corresponds to the default ZIP
code predetermined by the U.S. Postal Service. In the case of large
cities with multiple ZIP codes, the match will most often be the post
office located in the center of the specified location.
For example, Chicago, IL has over 60 ZIP codes assigned to it. Using
the "Use Default Location" setting, eMILER.com will always
return Chicago's most central ZIP code, 60607 Cook County.
In the case of a location with multiple name variations, the
eMILER.com database will return the default ZIP code location of the
closest spelling match. If this is not the desired location, users
can take advantage of the Spelling
Helper function. However, if this function is used while
"Use Default Location" is selected, eMILER.com will search
its location database alphabetically and return the closest spelling
match - not the central ZIP code. To see if you have received the
exact location you want, run the route using the Location
Picklist.
